About Melissa
Bio
Above all, I am a storyteller. My training in marketing (BA in marketing) and education (Master's in Curriculum & Instruction) & professional experience in photography, teaching, writing, editing & design (professional photographer and editor), I am able to create personalized curriculum for your desired outcome. Whether you want to focus on creativity, business or a combination of both, I have the background to empower you.
I have tutored and mentored countless students from 12 to 60, focusing on individual goals and targeted instruction based on those goals. This method of individualized curriculum leads to successful outcomes as evidenced by the feedback below:
-- Her approach to any teaching is ... wholly engaged, and her writing and communication skills are superior. She has made it her job to know absolutely everything there is to know about photography, both technically and creatively, and is able to address questions from and offer honest, encouraging advice to students at any level. While she is an accomplished photographer herself, she doesn’t rely on examining her own work in order to educate students.
-- I’ve come away ... more confident in my voice; I don’t feel the need to apologize for my voice.
-- A few elements are clear: Mel's talent, her lifetime passion for photography, and her mission in developing us as artists of our stories through images. She is a teacher, at heart.
-- Mel is the whole package! Mel is an exceptional teacher who honestly shares her expertise and insight in an encouraging and inspiring manner. You will certainly be thankful you chose her!
