About Ian
I am a recent graduate from Johns Hopkins University, where I studied Molecular and Cellular Biology and Psychology. I am currently applying to medical school.
I began tutoring in 2020 through GoPeer, an online tutoring service. Through their platform, I have hosted 329 tutoring sessions, encompassing more than 30 students, with a 100% satisfaction rate. I have taught a wide variety of students, from middle schoolers to college students. I am particularly experienced in SAT/ACT test prep, AP Chemistry, AP Biology, and K-12 arithmetics.
In college, I also worked with 4 Baltimore City High School students as an SAT tutor. Over the course of 6 months, their scores improved by an average of 450 points.
As a recent graduate, I understand that learning new material can be challenging and unmotivating at times. However, I have found that the brightest and most memorable times of my academic experience has been those moments during which an abstract concept suddenly makes sense and past confusing problems become doable. As a tutor, I hope to bring that same experience to as many students as I possibly can.
