About Devon
I can help you take your grappling to the next level with instruction from an elite competitor. You will receive personalized instruction from a coach who has 11 years of wrestling experience, has competed for the top-ranked division-I program in the country, and has a wealth of coaching experience. The pricing is extremely competitive for the level of instruction you will receive.
My current students are primarily MMA fighters and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competitors, but I also have experience coaching wrestling at the high school and college levels.
I love to teach and share my knowledge of wrestling. I most enjoy watching my students progress and achieve their goals using techniques and strategies that we've developed together.

Perfect! My son was a first year wrestler when he started with Devon. Within a couple lessons his confidence and technique vastly improved. Devon knows his stuff and is a excellent coach!

I like being able to expand my knowledge and learn new skills.
My teen daughter takes private wrestling lessons with Devon van Cura at both Citadel Martial Arts and Broadway Jiu Jitsu, and it has been a wonderful experience for her. Devon is patient, kind, challenging, respectful, and always enthusiastic and encouraging, especially when she needed to rehab after a bad injury. I couldn't recommend more highly!
Devon Van Cura is outstanding. He’s everything one could ask for in a coach: friendly, thoughtful, expert, encouraging.
Starting bjj at Citadel martial arts was one of the best decisions I made last year by far! It brought a focus and intensity to my life that I didn’t even realize I was missing, and along the way the people I trained with there every day became my family. It’s a really welcoming and accepting space and the instructors are all incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and qualified. Devon, the wrestling coach is a world class instructor and brings a really positive energy to the gym. I’d recommend classes with him and at Citadel to anyone who is looking to get stronger no matter their age or prior experience
