About Tony
The Academy of Koei-Kan Karate-Do has been part of the Westside Community for more than 22 years and serving the Santa Barbara area for more than 38 years. Koei-Kan specializes in Martial Arts instruction for kids (and adults). Private and semi-private classes are available as well as group training. With more than 30 years of teaching experience, Sensei Tony Becerra will help you or your child reach your/their untapped potential. Classes are designed to help develop self-confidence, self-esteem, leadership skills, coordination, agility, respect and reduce stress. I have always been involved with community service since I was a kid. Having an opportunity to have a business that helps with personal development was a perfect fit for me. I was a head varsity coach at the high school level for 20 years and that experience of working and mentoring those young teenagers was very rewarding. I really enjoy working with those who are looking for growth both physically and mentally. Being able to be a part of my students journey and giving them the support and accountability they need is what really makes me passionate about what I do.
