About Melannie
I am an enthusiastic math tutor with teaching and tutoring experience. My goal as an educator is to provide support for students to reach their academic goals (including but not limited to a focus on standardized testing), and grow as learners by developing their deep critical thinking skills. I can work with both middle and high school students. Math is my passion, and I want to share it.
Due to COVID-19, to practice social distancing, my tutoring services are available through Zoom video calls. Please contact me through email to set up an intial zoom meeting to see where your child is at academically. Scheduling, availability, and charge rate are discussed after initial meeting. (Charge rates vary depending on grade level and need, and begin at $50 per session.)

My credentials:
I received my Master's degree in Mathematics Education from Harvard Graduate School of Education.
I received my Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from SUNY New Paltz.
I am a certified Mathematics educator for grades 5-8.
I am currently a 7th grade math teacher in Cambridge. I have also taught Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 to high school students at Cambridge-Harvard Summer Academy.
I co-taught a rigorous Algebra 1 course at Phillips Academy Andover Summer.
I tutored Precalculus for CSTEP at SUNY New Paltz.
I enjoy working with students and learning from them as much as they learn from me.
my favorite part is not just seeing my students grow, but gain the confidence to do things they initially couldn't do.
