About JamieLynn
I have tutored almost every subject from kindergarten through college over the past 10+ years. I hold masters degrees in Special Education and Mathematics. I understand how much pressure children are under at school and how much pressure they put on themselves to achieve the best possible grades. My calm, laid back approach helps my students to relax and conquer the challenges they face inMath or any other subject.
I have been a teacher for over 10 years, have obtained 7 New Jersey teaching licenses (elementary, social studies, mathematics, science, special education, language arts, and supervision) and hold two masters degrees (Special Eduction and Mathematics).

At first I like to hear what students have learned, how they feel in their class, what they think their challenges are, and I also like to hear what parents have observed and/or heard from school. Then I give students scaffold problems to help me pinpoint where their skills deficit begins.
I have tutored students of all ages from kindergarten through their 50s going back to college.
Every student should work with an experienced tutor that fits with their personality and is warm, open to listening to them, and very supportive. Your tutor should care just as much about your success as you do.
My best tutoring experiences have occurred when students have felt safe and understood. Many times I end up feeling like one of their family because I am just as invested in their success as they and their parents are.
One of my recent clients made the transition to middle school and I am very happy to see that they have been able to apply what we worked on last year and over the summer. Now are tutoring sessions fly by with them problem solving confidently without the anxiety they previously experienced.
