About Hong

I specialize in tutoring Math. I am a certified middle school/high school math teacher.

I have been tutoring students in elementary school to college for 9 years in math.

I like to solve problems in a logical step by step manner so that my students can eventually become independent problem solvers.

I enjoy interacting and getting to know a student the most.

Secondly, I enjoying helping students who start out thinking the problem is complex, but after working with them they are surprised and relieved that it was actually not difficult at all.

I am an American born Chinese with a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Southern California and a Master's degree in Middle/High School Math Education

My brother encouraged me to give tutoring a try. My brother is a full-time organic chemistry, general chemistry, and physics tutor.

I am an American born Chinese with a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Southern California and a MSed in Middle/High School Math Education. I also have a year's worth of study abroad experience in Beijing at Peking University. I am currently working as a certified middle school/high school math teacher.

About the lesson

I would like to first help with pressing questions. After getting a sense of where the student needs improvement, I come in and fill in the gaps that their professor or teacher had left out. I hope to let my students finish each session with confidence and optimism to face future problems.

I have worked with pre-K students all the way to college students.

Feel free to speak your mind and concerns. Issues can be resolved with honesty and communication.

I used Hong's tutoring services for my College Chemistry class and he was very helpful. He is knowledgeable as well. He takes the time to explain problems to you. He will break problems down in order for you to solve them on your own. He is very professional and patient. I recommended his services to anyone struggling with their school work. He is easy to get a hold of for scheduling. He has helped me increased my confidence with my school work.

Hong is a great tutor. He is very patient and explains the topic well. In chemistry class I didn't understand what the professor was talking about and was very confused, but Hong broke it down step by step which made it so much more clear and I understood the topics much better! His price is also very fair.
