About Graham
I am a current college student majoring in Mathematics. I have been tutoring for just under two years. I started tutoring as part of a program in high school where I discovered a passion for teaching and helping others as they learn. All of my tutoring experience is in math. I have tutored Geometry, Pre-Algebra, Trigonometry, Algebra 1 and 2, and Pre-Calculus, but I have the most experience in Pre-Algebra and Algebra 1. The tutoring I did in high school took place in a busy, fast-paced environment. There would be a class of about 20 students and 3 to 5 tutors assigned to each class during a 27 minute tutoring period. I had to be able to explain a variety of concepts to a variety of students quickly and concisely. My other experience was very different, involving hour or 90 minute long sessions with one student. I often go above and beyond writing worksheets and activities for students. In that job I had to work with parents and their priorities as well as tutoring the student effectively. My goal as a tutor is to help others understand math and enjoy it more as well as improve my own understanding of math and gain more understanding of how different people learn and work with math.
