About Kevin
THE SITE FORCES US TO PAY TO CONTACT YOU. PLEASE TEXT OR EMAIL ME DIRECTLY IF YOU WOULD LIKE MY SERVICES ((concealed information), (concealed information) I work by myself. I have over 7 years of experience tutoring students of many age groups, with many different learning styles, across several years worth of classes and subjects including math (up to senior level undergraduate classes), some beginning college statistics, physics (up to senior level undergraduate classes), chemistry (through junior level organic chemistry), at least high school level of all sciences, and some basic mechanical engineering classes
I enjoy making sure people have a way to understand and learn difficult subjects such as math and the hard sciences. I love to see the person have the "Ah ha!" moment, especially after seeing them struggle with a problem or subject. Their joy is so contagious and I want nothing more than to make sure students can have those moments. I also have a passion for learning, so sharing my passion is a big driving force behind wanting to teach people.
I tutored my friend in math in middle school. Once I got to Western Nevada College, I found out that I could work at the Academic Skills Center (the campus' tutoring center). I applied and was hired on as a substitute tutor. After the first semester as a sub, I got a steady shift, learning more as a tutor and learning more that I loved helping people learn.
I have worked as a tutor since September of 2012 for Western Nevada College in their Academic Skills Center (Sept 2012-Aug 2018) and the ACCEL program (July 2017-Now), as well as for the University of Nevada, Reno in the Math Center (Aug 2016-April 2019). While doing this, I earned my AS in Engineering Sciences at WNC in 2014. I later took classes at UNR and am approximately 8 classes away from having my Bachelors degree in both Physics and Applied Mathematics.

I like to ask questions that help me determine the students strengths and weaknesses in the subject, as well as what their current problem is. Once I've learned that, I have a better idea on what to ask and how to ask it to better the students understanding
Middle schoolers, high schoolers, students seeking their high school equivalency (aged 16-mid 80s), traditional and non-traditional college/university students, international students from over a dozen countries, students just looking to brush up on basic, every-day math
I had a student who I had tutored in math and general science for her High School Equivalency Test. After taking her test and getting the results, she emailed me. She was so happy to tell me that she had passed after using the things I had taught her. Math had been the one subject she dreaded the most, but the testing techniques and the math itself that I had taught her got her to pass and she was extremely thankful.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Have I tried every option?
Is this similar to a previous problem I've done? If so, how can I change what I did before to fit my current problem?
Is there an example in my text/notes/whatever source you may have, which is similar to the problem that I'm struggling with? If not, how are they different from my current problem?
Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the teacher
He went over my math with me. He was kind and is willing to go slow when I dont understand. He will happily go over my work if I dont feel confident. If I missed a step, he will kindly tell me where I missed a step. He makes math not as frustrating.

I charge 20/hour minimum. I will increase the price if the subject requires study time from me (the subjects requiring the most are generally chemistry and engineering). The increase will not be more than 20/hour. I will also inform you how much this increase will be up front.
