About Lisa
Learning to apply math skills in the workplace or in coursework solving real world problems is something not often learned in traditional schools. I specialize in helping students maximize their skills by learning to apply them to real world problems at every level.
I've provided online tutoring in math, algebra, and trigonometry for over 20 years averaging 4-5 star ratings out of a total of 5 stars available. While I specialize in 3D Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis, I find great pleasure tutoring math students in my spare time.
My educational background runs the gamut from electronic engineering to computer science to process monitoring and control systems to research and development in open source virtual worlds software. I can help you prepare for the future!

Helping a student arrive at the Aha! moment is very gratifying for the student and myself! We make the journey together.
When I began my own business after leaving NASA, I wanted to be able to help prepare the engineers of the future. So I decided to tutor math students online to give them a head start!
I hold two accredited college degrees. One is an advanced degree in Electronic Engineering Technology while the other includes graduate level curricula in three majors: Computer Systems Design, Computer Science, and Process Monitoring and Control Systems. My education includes coursework in Applied Algebra, Applied Trigonometry, Applied Calculus, and La Place Transform Theory. Professionally, I've applied my math skills as a Senior Staff Systems Engineer and as a Consultant with a former NASA Career and current US Navy contract.

Most of my students are looking for homework help. We typically connect online so the student can show me the math problem they need help with.
From there, I will ask some questions to see where the student needs help then guide them as needed with the student doing as much work as possible. Often, the student needs to review some basic skills and learn to apply them to the problem.
My goal is to help the student learn to solve the problem on their own. Understanding the why behind the math is far more important than simply memorizing a formula or method. Learning to apply those skills will help the student advance much faster!
I've worked with students at all ages from grade school to college students. Some of my students are US military personnel. All of them are interesting!

One of my fondest memories was becoming an honorary member of the STS-86 astronaut crew for the work I did at NASA's Johnson Space Center. Math skills helped me achieve that goal and I want to pass that on to my students by helping them use math to prepare for the future!

I typically charge $45 USD per online session that lasts 45 minutes. If we need more time, we can continue at $5 per 5 minutes over as availability allows to be fair to students waiting.
