About Megen
Hello! I am currently a student teacher at Knoles Elementary School in the 4th grade. I have been studying education and working with children professionally since 2017. Before then, I would babysit and offer homework assistance to children I would watch (only in the elementary grades). I love helping children grow their confidence in their abilities to perform academically, and would be exicted for providing one-on-one assistance to students as they typically do not get to recieve that in their classrooms.
Currently a student at Northern Arizona University in the College of Education. I am in my final semester of Elementary Education and student teach in a fourth grade classroom in Flagstaff. Before then I have been part of Educators Rising in high school that prepped me for becoming a teacher. And I have offered homework assistance while babysitting as well.

Forst we get to know each other so they don't see me as a complete stranger and are comfortable working with me. I would ask them a few questions about what they think they need more help with. From there I also give them a few example problems to work on to gauge their ability level and what they know. It's also nice to try different methods to see which one they are most comfortable with or understand better. Sometimes on method can lead to a better understanding of another method.
