About Ethan
I provide each student with a personalized learning experience by working to understand their unique thought process. I am patient and entirely understand that not every individual will understand a new concept right away and some will need to hear the idea explained in a few different ways before having their lightbulb moment.
I have experience working with students aging from middle school to early college, and I'm able to connect with most of these students and find the best way to communicate with them.
I love to work with students because I have the opportunity to share my passion for learning new ideas. The best part of my day is discovering something new and I find most students share this love of discovery.
It's beautiful how different people can take entirely unique approaches to the same problem, and so long as we are communicating thought processes effectively, we can arrive at an accurate solution.
I started tutoring at my highschool in a peer-to-peer format. Many of my classmates would ask for help with certain homework problems, or to read over a paper for them. This experience helped me to realize that helping people understand new ideas was very fulfilling for me.
I am currently enrolled as a sophomore at the University of North Florida, studying for a BS in Computer Science.
I have tutored students in math, physics, and writing for 4 years, beginning as a junior in high school.

I like to have the student explain their ideas and thought process to me. Then we can both look at how that thought process may be improved or applied to solving the problem at hand.
I have worked with students who are enrolled in middle school, high school, and college. Because I've tutored people who are significantly younger and older than I am, I am comfortable communicating with most anybody.
Be cautious of relying on a tutor to complete assignments. My goal is to help a student understand concepts and grow in their ability to perform on a test. If a student isn't willing to put in time working on any problems before bringing them to a session, then we won't be making the best use of our time. I consider it my responsibility as a tutor to help with the problems that give a student particular trouble, not just to provide answers.

I would definitely recommend Ethan to anyone looking for a tutor! His flexibility was admirable as I called him in a pinch, needing to prep for an exam, and he fit me in his busy schedule that week. He was very professional and considerate, arriving early and wasted no time figuring out exactly where I needed help. He illustrated the physics concepts in new ways that made sense to me, and even did a real-life demonstration of a problem to help me understand. Through a two-hour tutor session, he made sure I was actually understanding the concepts and not just reverberating his answers back to him. He increased my confidence in my physics skills and I will definitely tutor with him again in the future!
