About Jorge
I have an Engineering Degree from City College of New York with a minor in Computer Science. Currently, I am a graduate student studying Computer Science at NYU. Besides one-on-one private tutoring, I have worked as a Tutor at the Cerullo Assistance and Learning Center (NJ) as a College Math and Science tutor for two years. At Cerullo, I have held one-on-one 1h tutoring sessions in many STEM College subjects (including Pre-Calc, Calculus I, II, and III) and more advanced math. I have also been part of the walk-in tutoring sessions where I would help college students with specific questions and math problems.

I find it really important to fully understand the questions or the difficulties the student has in a certain subject. Typically, the next step is finding the best way the student can understand and retain the information. For example, some students are visual learners, and as a tutor, making sure to implement diagrams or figures in the learning process would be very beneficial to them as learners. Sometimes finding ways and implementing different perspectives when tackling math and science problems is a transferable skill that students would be able to use in other problems and other subjects. Being able to build good problem-solving skills in a student is my main goal as a tutor.
