About Chase
Hello, my name is Chase Thacker, your prospective math tutor. As a college senior pursuing my Bachelors in Mathematics, I am well versed in many subjects ranging from beginner statistics and pre-algebra all the way up to and beyond more advanced topics such as linear algebra and differential equations. I am a long time tutor who has taught and assisted hundreds of students in several dozen subjects, with years of experience in both classroom settings as well as in individual sessions. I also have done extensive tutoring on all aspects of the ACT and SAT, helping many students improve their scores in a short amount of time.
I have several years experience working as both a professionally employed tutor at Morehead State University and as a private tutor which better allowed me to fine-tailor my teaching to each individual student. With over a half a decade of experience, I will be able to quickly and expertly identify the areas in which you struggle and fine tune my teaching to help you as an individual. I have taught students at all levels of knowledge, from experts who needed just a little more help to those who aren't sure what fractions even are, so don't hesitate to contact me no matter your level of expertise. As anyone who is familiar with math will tell you, there aren't any levels where having additional help won't be of benefit. Please let me know if you have any questions, I'm available almost any time and am capable of tutoring on a wide range of subjects not listed, including those outside of mathematics. I have been a tutor since highschool, where I often found myself assisting other classmates with help in math both during and after class. In part this was due to the exceptional teachers I had who allowed me to progress so far so quickly in my Mathematics career, but I honestly have always enjoyed teaching people about Math and just tutoring in general.
When I see someone else who can't quite work something out in math, I remember what it felt like to be frustrated about something I just couldn't understand. There's nothing better than the relief you see on someones face when they realize it isn't impossible, they just needed some help, and I take great pride in being able to help where I can.
As a Senior in my Bachelors of Mathematics program at Morehead State University, I am well versed in all forms of Math from beginner topics up to collegiate level classes like calculus, differential equations, and linear algebra. I have several years experience working as a tutor in a variety of subects. This includes 2+ years of tutoring in a college lab setting, where I was responsible for classrooms full of students all learning different materials and disciplines, and afterward 4+ years of private tutoring in dozens of subjects.
While tutoring professionally at a University helped me learn how to quickly adapt to any students needs, private tutoring allowed me to individually tailor my lessons to each student, so I'd say I'm exceptionally qualified to handle your math needs, no matter what they may be.

The first step in working with any new student is to identify their strengths as well as the areas they need work on. Nomatter the level of the student, there are always things they intuitively get and others that they struggle on, and the first step to building their math skills is identifying what exactly those things are.
Everyone can do math, it just takes dedication, a want to learn and succeed, and a capable teacher to make sure you're learning in the right way. I try and keep lessons interesting, upbeat, and full of examples and real world relations that can help my students see that math is not just a bunch of formulas to learn and forget, but a fun and exciting way of understanding the world around them.
I have worked with students of all ages and levels of math knowledge. From 8 year olds learning taking their first steps into addition and subtraction, to middle aged and even senior citizens enrolled at the college to get some certification or just for love of learning in general. Mostly though, I have tutored high school and college students in subjects like college algebra, statistics, geometry, and other mid-level mathematics courses.
Each student, no matter their age or experience, needs a unique style of teaching to succeed, and I am always ready to adapt to and assist a new student. Whether you are working on PDE's or you don't know what a fraction is, I have experience with your subject and know that at any level there is always more to learn and master.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Some questions any Math student (or any student) should ask:
What am I looking to get out of this experience? Do I just need short term help on an assignment to pass a class, or do I have several difficult courses ahead of me that will require mastery of this content?
How much time am I willing to dedicate to studying? (While some classes can be learned in a short time, others may take longer to master)
What areas do I struggle in? Which do I feel confident or at least comfortable in? (If the answer is none, for either of those, that's okay! There is always more to learn, and nobody takes their last steps without taking the first. As your tutor, it's my job to help you succeed, not judge you for how far you've already come.)
