About Mackenzie
Since I turned 15, I had always held a part time childcare job. I graduated from KU in 2015 after studying both Mathematics and Secondary Education. During my time at KU, I student taught in 3rd, 6th, 7th and 10th grade classrooms. After I got into teaching for a few years, I graduated with a Master's Degree in Educational Administration in 2019.
I have been teaching math for 7 years. I have taught 9-12th graders, freshmen math intervention level courses through college algebra and trigonometry. The past two years, I have been teaching 8th grade math. I have tutored at sylvan learning center, for high school and middle school AVID classes and I currently tutor students who have found my services through word of mouth. I am excited to use this app to help more students!

As we get ready for the first meeting, I typically ask new students to bring homework and notes so I can get a feel for what they are currently learning in school and into what depth. I have also asked parents to contact their teacher to ask what topic they recently learned, are learning and what's next. Then, I can put together games to review and get an idea of any learning gaps the student may have.
