About Amy
When teaching is in your blood, you simply can’t avoid it. I come from a long line of dedicated teachers and, although I took a different career path, I’ve always found myself educating and teaching. I have a solid education in math and science, plus a wide breadth of practical knowledge from my experience in the scientific research and healthcare sectors. I am a master at “translating science into English” and I teach students to do the same. With that tool in our tool bag, we can take on even the most complicated or foreign concepts with confidence!
-I have tutored math and science for students of friends, neighbors, and coworkers
-I have implemented structured early development and school readiness curriculums for nieces, nephews, and many friends’ little ones
-I spearheaded and ran a company-wide volunteer outreach and education service program at a research institute where I was employed
I studied biochemistry and Pharmacology at UCSB. I jumped into bench research at UCSF, then transitioned into clinical research, coordinating a longitudinal brain research study at Stanford for several years. Following the conclusion of that study, I shifted over to the healthcare sector, taking on business development and growth roles for 2 mental health care practices.
