About Sophie
Hi everyone! My name is Sophie and I am a current student at Marquette University double majoring in Elementary Education and Psychology and minoring in Theology. I have been passionate about educating others my entire life, and I love seeing children grow to their full potential. I know education can be particularly challenging this year with hybrid learning, and I hope I can help!
I have extensive hours working in Milwaukee Public and Private Schools through field placements, as well as experience volunteering in the Viroqua Area School District. I also have experience teaching swimming lessons as a certified Red Cross Lifeguard.
I am willing to travel to the homes of people in the Viroqua Area (within 20 miles or so) and I'm happy to provide online tutoring to anyone near or far.
I can provide tutoring for children in grades 1-6 in all subjects. I am also willing to tutor in some AP classes or college prep for upper-level high school students -- please reach out if you are interested.
I have had multiple jobs in the past where I worked with students in an instructional capacity. Some of these roles include teaching swimming lessons as a Red Cross Lifeguard and assistant teaching dance lessons through Trinity Academy of Irish Dance.
I also volunteered in the Viroqua Area School district while in high school and currently do service learning and fieldwork through my school in the Milwaukee Public School Districts.

When working with new students, I stress the importance of working with the child and their parents/guardains to come up with a timeline and gameplan for our time together. I want to make sure that our time together is meaningful and worthwhile, and building that channel of communication from the start is crucial.
