About Alex
I'm currently a graduate student at Johns Hopkins University, and completed my undergraduate degree at Wheaton College in 2021. Throughout my mathematics journey, I had good teachers, and wonderful teacher's aides who helped guide me, and all I would like to do is give back to mathematics, and help some people out and hopefully help instill a love of mathematics; it's nature's language!
I wasn't the smartest math major, nor did I have the memorization of someone in med school, but I worked hard, and I learned to enjoy it as math is a beautiful thing. It's woven into all fabric of life.
I applied these principles when I had the opportunity to be a teacher's aide in college for calculus 1 & 2 students for the majority of my studies, and worked diligently to make a fun and engaging atmosphere where math was enjoyable and loose; not rigid and uptight as it appears.
I majored in Applied Mathematics with an emphasis in Statistics at Wheaton College, and graduated there in 2021. From there, I took a job with a financial technology company that specializes in stock options trading services before entering my next phase of life at Johns Hopkins University where I'm currently pursuing my M.S. in Financial Mathematics.

Once I receive a new student. I ask that they send me their textbook ISBN (name of the textbook) so I can go through and understand the way the work is being communicated to them. If they are purely lecture based math classes, I ask that they submit some of their notes or assingments so I can understand the language the teacher is attempting to teach in.
If you facilitate an environment where you can learn effectively with the tools presented, and believe that you can, you won't be stopped, no matter how challenging the environment is.
