About Shahzeb
I've been a Lead Software Instructor for the past 3 years, specializing in full-Stack Java + Ruby development. I think learning should be fun! I Have had students hired in fortune 500 companies such as Citibank and State Farm. I'm a great tutor for all ages, whether your child is just getting started or if they have experience!
I started programming when I was 13.
What turned out as a hobby during the summer of my 7th-grade year, quickly turned into something more.
I've always had an interest in computers so when I first started learning to code, I built my own computers. I wanted to learn how the components worked. I started with basic web fundamentals such as HTML and CSS and decided to practice an hour a day. It was challenging, but I never quit.
Throughout my time as a developer, I've realized something. I've realized that programming is the perfect blend of art and science. My front end code is a representation of my creativity, but my back-end code is a display of my critical thinking.
Now I work as a Lead Software Instructor teaching full-stack Java Developement! :)
I taught full-stack web technologies to groups of future software developers to prepare them for new roles as junior developers in intensive, 8 week & 12-week programs.
• Have had many students hired within 3 months of graduation. Some of which in fortune 500 companies such as Citibank and State farm.
• Lead classes of up to 20 people, covering a wide curriculum based in Java

When I work with a new student, the first thing we'll do is have an open conversation with them about their strengths and the topics they are not comfortable with. I have them take a very simple 5 question assessment to create a personalized plan for them!
I've worked Kids Code with all ages from children ages 6-12, all the way to adults from 25-30! So I'm experienced with both!

He was very down to earth and covered the material in a easy to understand way. He would show genuine interest when I showed him my work on projects. I liked that he would ask me questions at the edge of my knowledge to help push me to learn more and understand the underlying concepts of the how and why.
Shaz was an awesome tutor! I connected really well with him. He didn’t stop rewording or rephrasing a concept until we were both sure I fully understood it. Would definitely recommend!
I had a great experience brushing up on HTML and CSS with Shahzeb. I needed a tutor to refresh some lost concepts over the years of not practicing coding and he catered to my needs very well. In my experience tutors are very rigid in their teaching , a cookie cutter one size fits all to every student. Not so with Shahzeb. Pleasantly surprised , enough to write a review! (:
