About Marq
Hey! I'm Marq!
Whether you want to learn music production, learn to read music, compose for orchestras or any instrument, touch up on music theory, acquire piano playing prowess, or figure out how your favorite artist does what they do, you have come to the right teacher!
With 21 years of music experience, and 9 years of teaching, I've taught ages 8 all the way up through college. I have found that there's always a new way to teach. If something isn't sitting right or doesn't make sense, I can switch modes and teach it in a way that makes sense and is still fun☺️
Music is an ever-changing industry and it's important to stay up with the current times if you're looking to make it your main focus.
You will learn the basics of music theory as well as your area of study, all while having fun and engaging conversation!
I love seeing people improving in something they're interested in! Whether you're a younger student just starting to learn, or someone who's developed a passion over the years, everyone has the ability to improve and be proud of what they've achieved!
With 21 years of experience in music, 9 years of teaching music lessons and time spent studying at the prestigious Berklee College of Music as a major in Film Scoring with a minor in music production, I guarantee that there's a way that will help you understand music in a meaningful way.

I start by assessing what knowledge you have in the area you are interested in, and from there we tailor your lessons to help you improve. All students will learn the basics of music theory as a core part of the lessons, covering note reading, intervals and chords structures and more! This will help you improve in all areas- whether you're interested in piano, music production or even film scoring!
I've worked with many students over the years, mostly ranging from about 3rd grade up through high school!

He is very thorough. Easily the most talented, knowledgeable being I’ve ever had the pleasure to work with. His skill is incomparable. His brain is a never ending wheel of creativity. Very knowledgeable as well as personable! He taught me a wide array of skills on the cello, bass, as well as Logic Pro. I would highly recommend Marq to anyone of any age and any skill level.
This guy knows his stuff!! My daughter is taking introductory instrumentation with him and she loves it! As a retired music teacher myself, he goes above and beyond to make sure it makes sense. Full of personality as well! You’re missing out if you don’t give him a shot!
