About Chris
Percussion is amazing. I've been a percussionist for over 10 years and I've fallen in love with it. But I remember how confusing and daunting it is. I am here to help. It can be an amazing opportunity and extremely fun if you have the right guidance.
I am a percussion student at Portland State University studying music education and I am about to start my fifth year this fall. I have given a few lessons before now and have taught a percussion camp for a near by middle school. I have played in numerous ensembles at PSU (wind symphony, ballet, opera, musicals, choir) so I can share my knowledge of what is required from each ensemble.
I hope I can be of any help to you and your percussion student.

Meeting with them and at least a parent is first on my list. I belive that in order to have a strong professional relationship, it is important to get know my students and their parents so we go into lessons already understanding what is expected of us. My hope is that, by getting to know each other, we'll all feel more comfortable and we won't just seem like strangers.
After that, I would want to see where the student is and begin teaching. Then with that information, we can develop a lesson plan for the what we want to achieve (competitions, talent shows, up-comming concerts, etc).
