Hands on! Bring you camera. I have a presentation with lots of pictures and examples, but the best way to learn is by doing. So it is a solid mix of both me teaching through dialouge, and you practicing and getting feedback.
All ages and walks of life. I've worked with youth as young as 11 and I've worked with retirees looking for a new hobby. Every interest and season has amazing opportunity.
Find someone whose style resonates with you and what you hope to accomplish. If you want to learn to use sophisticated lighting equipment, find a photographer who uses it well. If you prefer natural lighing and minimal equipment, find a photographer who does amazing art without all the bells and whistles. Just because they are amazing doesn't mean they are the right style for you.
