About Cameron

I believe that no matter who you are, all subjects of education are within your grasp. If you are more artistic, you can learn the sciences. If you are more athletically inclined, you can learn to be the book worm in the library after school studying Shakespeare. I want to support students in doing the things they think are impossible. Only through trials and difficulties do we grow as people. I intend to be a stepping stone to more well rounded, more educated, and more sucsessful students. As an experienced professional working in labs with products ranging from food, to pest control, to cancer treaments, I hope to share my love of science with all my students.

I enjoy tutoring people of all backgrounds. Science is simply defined as work done objectively. Science does not care about who you are, where you came from, or where you plan to go. Anyone can learn science and learn how to apply scientific theories and laws to their advantage.

I believe passion is a wonderful driver for teaching. I am truly passionate about the world of science and have been ever since I was kid. I grew up in Arizona, a state whose university's are known for science and research excellence. I was inspired by childhood heroes like Bill Nye to share my love for science with other people. The joy I get from sharing my passion has always pushed me to speak on ears that were willing to listen. I am taking professional steps forward in order to share that passion with more willing minds.

I have a Bachelor of Science from Northern Arizona University, where I performed research in organic synnthesis and analytical chemistry laboratories. I have worked in both FDA and EPA regulated laboraties on food products, animal pest control products, as well as medical devices.

It is very important to outline a new student's goals first and foremost. Students at different levels of education will have widely varying goals for what they plan on using the education for so it is important that both teacher and student are aware and align the teachings and teaching style to these goals.

I have worked with high school students, college-aged students, and adult learners.

Make sure you have a teacher who is supportive of you and your goals. Whether it be passing a high school biology course, studying for a labortory practical in college that will be the deciding factor on keeping your 4.0 GPA, or an adult looking to grow and understand a field that is foreign to them.

I am fond of Elon Musk's recent endeavor to send civilians into space. Most people are unaware that all astronauts are actually scientists. They are all highly regarded in their respective fields whether it be physics, chemistry, biology, or engineering. Elon's dream is bigger than just sending civilians to space as he intends to make the science of the most remote travel destination (The International Space Station) accsessible to all. He mirrors my passion for science and engineering and wants to make it acsessible to the masses.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
-What is my primary learning objective?

-Who are instructors that have stood out to me in the past? What made them special and memorable to me?

-Do I only need to study right before the exam or do I need to learn as difficult topics are introduced in my courses?

-How do I learn most effectively? Am I more hands-on? Or do I have a more hands-off , learn by the book approach?

I believe that a good student/teacher fit is essential to providing a safe space to learn and grow. An introductory call to ensure a good fit is necessary. This will give both student and teacher a time, free-of-charge, to learn a bit more about the other and define what success means on both ends of the relationship. Standard rates will apply after moving forward. A referal bonus will be given to students who refer another student after the new student completes their third tutoring session.
