About Katie
Katie Hadley has been teaching Suzuki Piano lessons for 6 years and has watched many children and beginners grasp and enjoy this natural method. Beginning piano students receive the best benefit from an excellent foundation. It is Katie's desire to kindle a lifelong love of music and learning.
Katie has attended Suzuki Summer Institutes held by the Suzuki Association of the Americas. She completed training in Suzuki books and Every Child Can! In addition to the institutes, Katie has apprenticed and taken lessons with Suzuki teachers Sara Zentner, Robin Blankenship, and Betty King. Katie has also attended Suzuki master classes.
Katie is an active member of Music and Arts Guild, a local and well respected group of piano teachers.
Developed by Shinichi Suzuki for young violin students, Suzuki students are known around the world for their excellent musicianship. Through an emphasis on posture, technic, and aural training, the method has proved itself a great success. The method was later adapted to piano with the same great results. Today, the Suzuki students are known for their great
skills and ability as well as their friendly musicianship.
Lessons are available during the school year and /or in the summer
Monthly tuition is 25.00 per lesson due at the beginning of the month.
Lessons are held once a week
Lessons are 30 min in length
Parents are encouraged to be actively involved in their child’s piano instruction
If a student cannot attend a lesson due to illness, a make up lesson may be scheduled for another time. Tuition may not be waived

I adapt to individual students by discovering their unique giftings and interests. During lessons, students learn scales, sight reading, memorization through the Suzuki method. They also choose a song they will practice for a recital.

Katie is so patient and encouraging with our 8 year old son! He started in May and recently had his first recital. He had a wonderful opportunity to play on a concert grand piano in a college music hall venue. We know all teachers cannot provide that type of opportunity. He hit every note, and we were so proud!
Our son enjoys lessons with Katie, and she takes time to teach him the meaning of all of the symbols - much more than I ever learned over various years of classes as a child.
She provides a great mix of traditional/technical music along with fun, holiday/current songs and moves with him at his speed.
We learned about Katie through a school brochure that came home in our son’s folder, and we feel like we found a hidden gem!
We highly recommend her!

Miss Kaite is a wonderful piano teacher, and has the patience of a SAINT with my children! 😄 She looks for opportunities for the kids to get out and perform several times a year, and always has a positive, encouraging attitude while still encouraging the kids to strive for improvement. My mother has watched several lessons, and has repeatedly commented on how incredibly well Katie does with the kids, and how much they get out of their lessons as compared with lessons from other teachers that she has seen in the past with her other grandkids. You can't go wrong with Miss Katie!
