Max is an excellent teacher who is engaging and introduces me to good music.

I've studied music with Max for a few years now and it has been an awesome experience. We've done every from piano lessons, music theory, band rehearsals, and more and Max has really helped make me the musician I am today. Not only is he a great teacher, he's a really nice and supportive teacher which makes the learning environment all the better.

I had no piano or music experience when I began taking lessons with Max. Though I started out overwhelmed, Max was able to make learning the piano easy and accessible. My progress was so much faster than I thought was possible! Max is both an extremely talented musician AND an extremely talented teacher.

When I started taking piano lessons with Max, I had been playing for about 4 years and my progress had begun to stall. Max completely invigorated my lessons with new approaches to practicing scales, chords, progressions, as well as listening skills. He is a very enthusiastic and motivational teacher and I highly recommend him to anyone looking to take their skills to the next level.

Max has a wonderful knack for connecting with students. His knowledge of piano and music theory is amazing, the primary reason my son studies with him, but this is complimented by his ability to find ways to relate to adolescents/teens, which is a huge bonus for parents. He found a way to incorporate both classical and retro music into the lessons. My son is drawn to the piano by the retro but continues to practice the songs I love to hear him play, the Classics, as well. I highly recommend The Harmony Club, and Max.

Max was an amazing teaching to my daughter. He was always positive, and worked with her on improvisation skills, which was exactly what she needed. He chose assigned pieces in line with her taste, and focused in depth on theory and scales. He is talented and passionate about music, and a gifted teacher who cares about his students.

Max is really great. He has worked with our twelve-year-old daughter for over a year. Our daughter had been playing piano for a number of years, but she wanted to explore a bit more with improvisation and composition. Max is great in this regard, helping our daughter with guided improvisation and approachable music theory, while also helping her technically. He is always super patient and encouraging. He's also just an easy going nice guy, who connects with people. I highly recommend him.

Max teaches you based on the level where you are and goes from there. He also takes care of your technique by letting you practice scales and chord progressions, etc. Just what I need. He also has a nice personality. Highly recomended!

If you're looking for a teacher, you caught a break here. The search is over. Max is your guy. He's a phe-nom-on-al teacher - he's super smart (but not in an irritating way), and he really seems to know how to teach the student what they're ready to learn, as opposed to just telling them what he knows. He has an awesome sense for how the student learns - and when they're ready for more. (He let me jump around from topic to topic and idea to idea, which is how I learn.) His approach to the hard stuff is relaxed and easy-going. He makes you work for it, without SEEMING like you're working for it. I returned to basic theory much later in life, and Max made it SO easy. I'm now playing the old standards by ear, and arranging as I play, and - bonus! - understanding what I'm doing. That's because of Max. He's THAT good! Thank you, Max! Max is an awesome pianist and teacher. He’s been working with our son for about 3 years. We are so glad we can continue to work with him even though he has moved. He will make things fun while teaching important skills. He is a graduate of a prestigious music school but you wouldn’t know because he is so down to earth. We highly recommend him.
