I began as an adjunct teacher in university, and later established my own studio.
BME Degree, MM in performance Degree, and a lifetime of
performing and teaching. I have taught in public schools,
universities, and served as head of the music department at the School of Performing Arts in Orlando, FL.
I have been a member of the National Guild of Piano Teachers for many, many years and am currently chairperson of the Lincoln Chapter.
I have performed as a solo artist, as well as with chamber music groups and with orchestras.

Shirley Harrison was my pre-college teacher and prepared me for a successful college career. She instilled within me an understanding of stylistic interpretation and performance practice. She also introduced me to the technical skills necessary to perform a variety of styles.
Mrs. Harrison is an artist-teacher in the truest sense. I have carried lessons learned with her through two piano degrees and a career in piano pedagogy. I highly recommend her to serious students wishing to delve into the world of classical repertoire and to anyone wishing to pursue a career in piano.Shirley is an excellent piano teacher who has so much knowledge about music.
