About Kai-Ju
I hold a Doctor of Musical Art degree in clarinet performance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with a doctoral minor in Music Theory. I was the First Prize winner of the International Clarinet Association's Young Artist Competition in 2012. My playing was heralded as "very musical, with smooth technique and clean playing" in The Clarinet Journal.
I currently serve as the guest principal clarinet of the Madison Symphony Orchestra, and teach clarinet/piano lessons through Madison, Sun Prairie, Waunakee areas in Wisconsin.
I have 7+ years of experience in teaching clarinet and piano lessons at all ages and levels. In my class, I demonstrate essential clarinet/piano techniques, and led students to identifying issue in playing and seeking solutions through discussion. I also assessed students' progress and provide tailored instruction to students based on their diverse backgrounf and levels.

I enjoy working with students of diffrent background, temperament, and levels. In each lesson, I enable students to gain a greater appreciation for music. I also enjoy discussiong music with students form a variety of angles includiong cluture, historical, and aesthetic.
