About Lylybell

I was a former community college student, then transferred to UCLA in 2016. In community college, I majored in Sociology. At UCLA I recieved a Bachelor's degree in Asian American Studies and Gender Studies.

Taking 12 social science and humanities classes each year, I perfected my skills in writing college level essays and critical reading with difficult academic texts. Before I attended UCLA, I spent 3+ (on and off) years tutoring groups of 2-5 students ranging in ages 6-18 in English, reading, (creative) writing, and elementary level math and science. As such, I feel comfortable and knowlegable with these subjects.

Throughout my years in college, I learned many different subjects from sociology, social sciences, humanities, liberal arts, and creative subjects such as photography. Being in school, I learned the importance in time management with school schedules and studying, how to study effectively, and different tips and tricks when studying different material.

In the future, I hope to work as a teacher or a children's therapist. Therefore, tutoring students helps me greatly, and I in help students.

I have years of experience working with and tutoring kindergarden to high school aged students. Tutoring in a strict, uninteresting way, I found is the biggest barrier in a student's learning. Threfore, I like to tutor in a fun and engaging way which helps students learn and keep them interested.

I have worked extensively with people of diverse social, cultural and economic backgrounds and varying age groups including youth, adults, and the elderly. These experiences have given me the ability to converse with different types of people in a compassionate and respectful manner.
