About Tina
I began my degree at Sam Houston State University and completed my Masters at The University of Houston. I taught in Cypress Fairbanks ISD, Mansfield ISD, Hallsville ISD, Harelton ISD, Longview ISD, and Comal ISD.
I have certification to teach in the state of Texas in ESL and Pre-k through 8th grade. I am only tutoring Pre-k through Second grade as I prefer the beginning readers with an emphasis on phonics. I taught for 27 years in Kindergarten, Second, and Third Grade. I also have a Masters degree in Early Childhood Education.

I like to get to know my students interests as I try to find books and activities on their level that they find interesting. This keeps their attention better and helps them progress if they find something they love and see success in their learning.
I have primarily worked with 5-8 year olds in the area of reading and language arts instruction.
