About Jenny
I teach classical and jazz clarinet and saxophone and perform regularly in both idioms. I play with orchestras and chamber groups and with jazz bands and small ensembles.
I started by helping my band director with beginning students as a kid.
I earned a doctorate in music and have coached with schools, Bellevue Youth Symphony, and Seattle Women’s Jazz Orchestra.

We do a single “getting to know you” lesson to make sure we are a good fit and I assess the student. I ask a lot of questions about the goals of the student and tailor the curriculum to the needs and interests of the student.
I work with kids as young as 8 and adults as old as 78. I am sensitive to learning differences and have taught college level lessons as well.
Make sure the teacher is right for you. A good working relationship means good progress in achieving your goals.

Perfect! As an adult who has played other instruments I really appreciate Jenny meeting me where I am, rather than as a 12 year old (as I have encountered with other teachers). She also has a very pleasant engaging and enthusiastic teaching style!
