About Sandra
I taught myself to sew in 1991 when I made friends with my mom's old sewing machine so I could make clothes for my baby.
She's all grown up now and I've sewn quilts, clothes, costumes, evening wear, toys, bags, you name it.
If you want to learn to sew in a way that isn't stressful and that focuses on fun and completing your project, give me a call!
I have a Bachelor's degree in Drama Performance. That included working in the costume shop and on costume crew. Mostly I am self-taught with trial and error and lots of reading.
I'm pretty good at troubleshooting problems with sewing machines and have been a volunteer with Swap-O-Rama-Rama and the Fixit Clinic focusing on sewing and sewing machine troubleshooting/repair.
I have a Master's degree in Library and Information Science so I can research the heck out of anything!

I'll break it down for you in terms of time and costs. This is when I'll probably be giving you some advice about making your expectations realistic so that you can be successful in your first sewing endeavor. Don't worry, I'm all about the positive!
We'll get together and I'll walk you through the process step by step. Mostly, I'm your coach, though I'm happy to demonstrate anything before handing it off to you.
You can ask all the questions you like and when you feel comfortable/confident in what you're doing, we'll part ways...until you want to meet again!
