About Jesy
An all-inclusive sewing studio that is dedicated and committed to holding high standards for teaching but while having a lot of fun!
I love seeing that "ah-ha" moment when the light in someone's eyes glows brightly. I know that what they were learning clicked and made sense. Or that the confidence to do it on their own is now present!
in 2012 I opened a sewing studio with a fellow seamstress called Sew Dayton, from there I focused on teaching the community to sew! I have been doing it ever since.
I have been teaching the Miami Valley to sew since 2012. I have taken numerous continuing education courses for years to stay up with current trends and techniques.

First thing I like to find out is if they have ever sewn before, if they have if they are wanting to refresh or advance and which path of creativity they want to take.
With sewing there are different roads you can go down:
1. basic mending and hemming
2. sewing clothing/garments
3. Quilting
4. Accessories (purses, bags, totes etc)
5. Home decor
6. Men's clothing
7. Pattern design/manipulation
I work with children all the way to seniors. I have worked the with students on the spectrum and with downs. I love teaching anyone with the willingness and want to learn.
Look at their website, check out the reviews, find out when the studio is open and go talk to the teacher and ask the questions.
Adult and Kids Sewing 101 - 4-week workshops! I love getting to see the same students for a few weeks! We made a pillowcase, applique pillow and a tote bag, along with them learning how to use the machine on the first day! I recently added an adult 201 for the ones that wanted to continue learning!
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
How much and if there are any camps, workshops or private lessons. Tell them what you are excited to learn and where you would like your creative journey to take you.
How long they have been teaching. Make sure to ask if you have to bring a sewing machine or not and supplies, do you need to purchase from them or can you bring your own.
Ask for references if you are still not sure!

Perfect! I booked private class with Jesy to show me how to use my serger. She's very knowledgeable with my machine; and I learned a lot on what my machine can do. I am now comfortable to use my serger was able to sew my Halloween blouse with no problem. I am excited to sew more things with my serger. Thanks Jesy! See you soon in next class.

She is helpful and great at explaining!
I have been taking sewing lessons with Jesy at Needle, Ink And Thread for about 18 months. Prior to that I had never sewn before. I have now sewn 2 shirts, a pair over bib overalls, 2 dresses, a tote bag and zipper pouch, and am getting ready to sew my 3rd dress with her! I have also learned to weave and do some embroidery! I am also getting ready to do a summer online sew-a-long! Recently I also helped her with a summer camp! All this has been made possible through her teaching and her giving me the confidence and encouragement I needed to create such beautiful garments. She is patient and never makes you feel silly for not knowing things that may seem obvious. You won't be sorry for taking lessons from her!

have taken two classes with Jesy at Needle, Ink and Thread and I highly recommend her to anyone interested in sewing/needle art. I took her adulting 101 class and hand embroidery class and I left both classes confident in my newly honed skills. Jesy is a great teacher and a real asset to our community. Do yourself a favor and contact her for classes AND alterations- she's fantastic!
