About Mrp studio for performing arts
Hello! I'm Matthew Ryan Pest, but you can just call me Ryan. For over a decade, I’ve worked as a performer, educator, and music director across universities, youth programs, and professional stages. I hold advanced degrees in the performing arts and bring specialized training in voice, piano, and acting into each session.
What makes my studio stand out? I treat every lesson like ensemble work: I listen deeply, adapt quickly, and thrive in the collaborative process. Whether we’re refining technique or preparing for auditions, I design each session to fit your goals and learning style. I especially love guiding students toward confident artistry—balancing hard work with humor, and helping them feel grounded and empowered in their craft.
You’ll benefit from a studio that’s equal parts creative lab, training ground, and celebration space. Let’s build something incredible together.

I'm so grateful for everything Ryan has taught me. Learning how to play the piano with him has been such a fun and rewarding experience. His endless patience, encouragement, and genuine care have made all the difference. I'm so thankful for everything he has helped me achieve over the last 3 and half years. I never would have stuck with it for this long without him. I truly couldn't ask for a better teacher.
Ryan is very patient and detailed which makes him an excellent teacher who is also fun to learn from!
