About James
USSF “C” licensed coach with 16+ years coaching experience and 38 years playing experience.
Hello, my name is James Smith. I have played as a Right back and Midfielder professionally with CV Fuego (formerly Fresno Fuego FC) of the USL and collegiately for Allan Hancock College. As a player at the youth level, I was a California Olympic Development Program state team member and Regional camp invite.
I have coached primarily youth competitive soccer in California and have led my teams to numerous tournament, league, and State Cup championships.
As a personal trainer, I have worked with grassroots players all the way up to professional players. My biggest strength is my innate ability to recognize a player’s individual strengths and needs for improvement in strength, speed, technical skills (ball mastery), awareness, emotional and game intelligence. The game itself is simple but, a coaches best success should be measured by the way in which he or she can improve a player’s confidence and ability to perform consistently without fear. I pride myself on my ability to give excellent visual and verbal demonstrations and encouragement for the player to improve through repetition.
I have many video links of my training sessions that I can share should you request more information of how I conduct training. “Forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.”
Cheers 🔥⚽️🔥

James is absolutely amazing! He created a culture for my daughters that was rigorous, positive and diverse. He not only tailored their sessions to what they needed to work on, but did it in a way where they did not feel discouraged. Our family will forever be grateful to the time and opportunities James gave to both of our girls. James helped shape our girls into the athletes they are today! Smith Academy of Elite Footballers…the BEST!
The positive experience and expertise James provided during training sessions has been amazing. The growth our daughter gained during her time training with James is visible on the field. The confidence gained has also been evident on the field. His positive energy and patience always greatly appreciated. He goes above and beyond for each of his trainees.
