About Rachel
Rachel grew up in Lorton, Virginia where she had been competitively swimming since she was eight years old. She swam with her summer club team, Crosspointe Cruisers and swam for the George Mason Makos Swim Team for winter club. She qualified for various championship meets such as Zones, Sectionals, and Junior Nationals. She swam her freshman year in high school at Hayfield Secondary, and continued her high school career at South County Secondary where she qualified and placed for Districts, Regionals, and States each year.
After graduating high school in 2008, Rachel took her talents to Cleveland, OH where she signed with the Cleveland State University Vikings Swim & Dive Team. She quickly became one of the team's top breast strokers and IMers. Her events were the 100 and 200 breast, and 200 IM. As a freshman, she earned her spot on the record board in the 200 and 400 Medley relay, and continued to earn her spot on every year on the CSU Conference Team. She graduated from Cleveland State in 2013 with her Bachelor's degree in Middle School Education with concentrations in Science and Social Studies.
