About April
I have been teaching for over 30 years. I have taught all ages from pre-school (briefly) through college level. My primary subjects are college-level biological sciences, but I have also taught SAT and ACT prep courses, and middle and high school science and math. My teaching approach is to use stories and analogies to make difficult concepts easy to understand. I believe in the philosophy of how one eats an elephant (one bite at a time), so when tutoring I move step-by-step through problems and concepts ensuring that the student fully understands a step before moving on to the next one. I also think that learning and humor go hand-in-hand, so my students have always rated me very high in their enjoyment of m y classes
