About Cierra
As a music educator, I strive to cultivate a connection with each of my students every week. Each lesson plan is catered towards the student's needs and goals. It is my passion to see students grow through guidance. I would love to see you or your student grow with me!
I love challenging myself and my students every day to achieve our goals and grow together!
My teaching career began when I started my Undergraduate Degree at Kennesaw State University in 2017. My goal is to expose myself to as much of a variety of students as possible to expand my teaching knowledge.
My studies are concentrated in music performance at Kennesaw State University. Being apart of a high ranked School of Music means I have received high quality training in my instrument, pedagogy, Music Thoery, Ear training and professional collaborative events.

The first step in working with a new student is initiating a phone call with the guardian (or student) who is interested in lessons.
I have worked with a great variety of students from the age of 8, to the age of 53. I have experience with special needs students and learning disabilities. Many of my current students are home schooled and in middle school programs, however I do encourage any other student to try a lesson with me!
The first thing that is most important is establishing the student's needs and asking how the teacher intends to meet these needs. Having the teacher set goals for the student is a significant factor as well.
A fond event of mine was having the pleasure of meeting Kennesaw State's guest artist Allen Vizzutti. Students like myself were able to participate in his masterclasses, lessons, as well as his very own live performance. Getting to know a trumpet legend was an inspiration I will never forget.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What kind of music do I want to play?
What goals do I want to achieve as a musician?
What goals to I want to achieve as a trumpet player?
Are these goals long term or short term?

Cierra reached out to me to see if she could give sectionals for my band program to promote her trumpet private lessons. She was so professional and even performed for my students in my classes! My students really enjoyed working with her. She is knowledgeable, excited to teach, and patient. She is a wonderful teacher and person, suitable for beginners and for high school students!
Very diligent and dedicated. Cierra is quite talented and has a great deal of patience for working with kids of all ages. I highly recommend her.
Cierra is super professional and courteous of our son’s needs. Her rates are good and she is very flexible with scheduling.
My son has been taking lessons from Cierra for almost a year and he has improved so much! She knows her stuff and has helped my son improve his sound quality, breathing, confidence, and sight reading. She has the patience to work with beginners and is very encouraging. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trumpet instructor!
