About Janaya
As a former division 1 collegiate volleyball player, I have garned the skills to be able to develop talent to the collegiate level. With 12 years of experience as a player and 2 as an assistant coach, i understand both sides of the game and can bring her knowledge to whomever wishes to attend my classes. I incorporate discipline, fundamentals, and strategies that will be specific to the skill set of the player in my class at the time. I understand that everyone’s body is different and it may take different methods to teach a skill to a player.
Although my classes are serious, I always remind players that you cannot take the fun out of the game. Doing so will cause you lose passion. I keep my trainings skill-based but also competitive. I want players to beat the person they were yesterday.
I know my class will improve a player’s skill set with the proper dedication and attention to detail. I hope to see you in a class soon!
Qualifications and awards:
NCAA division 1 full scholarship recipient at Howard University in DC
Two conference championships
Two NCAA 1st round appearances
All-conference team selection
My old volleyball coach always told me I’d be a great coach. After i graduated college he invited me to help out at my old club.
I previously was an assistant coach at CajunLand volleyball club in New Orleans for two years. I helped coach the 15 year old travel team that had a very successful season last year.

I always asses their skill level first by doing fundamental drills. I also ask the player a little about herself/himself and what their goals are with the class. I want to make sure we are focusing on what they wish to improve on in their game. Once that is complete, we jump right into training.
I’ve mostly worked with students between the ages of 10-15.
