About Mia
Born and raised here in Southern California, I attended high school in Vista, CA playing on the varsity volleyball team all four years. It wasn’t until high school that I was introduced to the club side of indoor volleyball where I was able to become a well-rounded player and teammate. After graduating in 2019, I coached as head of a JV team at a neighboring high school where I was able to give back to a group of girls not much younger than myself and lead them to a record of 14-3.
I missed playing, so she took a step back from coaching and played on the beach at MiraCosta Community College. However, the next indoor season brought me some unprecedented health issues, so I had to give up playing collegiately. But, where one door closes, another opens and I transferred to San Diego State University to study Kinesiology with an emphasis on becoming a fitness specialist with my associate’s degree in Liberal Arts: Math and Sciences and now I coach at La Jolla Country Day School.
Starting my volleyball journey in 6th grade and finishing in my second year of college, playing for my schools and club, as well as both indoor and on the sand, I'm very avid about giving back to those who play the sport that changed my life. I want nothing more than to share my knowledge of volleyball and help athletes reach their potential both as athletes and well-rounded individuals. My top priorities are promoting discipline, competitive attitudes, and fun! So many lessons can be taught through volleyball, and I'd love to be able to help your athlete experience them!
