About Mary
Mary Bentdahl, KRI Level 1 certified, is a talented and skilled yoga instructor who has shared and practiced Kundalini Yoga for over three years. The practice of Kundalini came into her life during a time of need, and surrounded her with love, support, healing, awareness, and health. It soon became a lifestyle, and has now led her to become a Kundalini yoga instructor so that she may share these gifts with you, others, and with the world. She creates a welcoming, warm, safe space to help those around her experience the light this practice brings in. Through her own experiences and extensive training with Kundalini Yoga and meditation, she shares her passion and love with her students.

I fell in love with my practice because of the darkness I was in at the time. I needed to find the light, and I remember a few years prior I had taken a kundalini class that gave me subtle changes within that class and I knew I needed to find a kundalini class again. Golden Sol is my home for "Om" and started me on my journey of taking weekly classes with whom I call my Spiritual Teacher, one whom I can confide in with any question or concern of life or my practice. She suggested during a class I look into the teacher training for that upcoming year. While resisting the idea of being a teacher I decided to sign up for the training anyway, knowing it would be a great way to deepen my practice and learn more about the technology of kundalini yoga. During the entire 9 months of training I continued to resist being a "teacher" yet my last three weeks before training ended I was teaching a class for my requisite and had a moment of complete joy and fulfillment while guiding my class. In that moment I knew I was a teacher, this is what I'm here for, to help others who have fallen into the darkness of life and to be their guiding light back to happiness and a soul fulfilling life through kundalini yoga. It's been quite a journey thus far and I can't wait to see where this path takes me in the future. Sat nam, god bless.

I have worked with all types of students, from elderly to young, fit to no so fit. This practice does not discriminate. That is why is it important for my students to understand that this practice is theirs and no one else's. Kundalini yoga is by definition, 'The Yoga of Awareness', to be aware of your body and mind. Anyone can do this practice, even if in a wheelchair it all about stimulating the mind to rebuild the neuron structure of the brain.
Go with what your heart says. We are all connected as one and when you listen to your heart you can hear a lot, especially when it comes from a true place. Going with logic and reason can be smart but when it comes from a loving place you'll never go wrong. Do what is best for YOU, just as what this practice is, a practice for life full time.
I was recently in Peru on a retreat as the yoga instructor and during one of my classes, the energy of the room was so high and intense while I was not in the posture with the students I had an experience of pure bliss and electric joy pulsating throughout my body, to the point where I started to cry. Even while not doing the postures I still received the energy of the room. This practice is powerful!
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Some questions that may arise from students before initializing a connection would be more on intentions. I ask, what intentions do you have for reaching out and finding someone who will take you where you need to go? Intentions are everything, no matter what you do. Intend to have an open heart and open mind, intend to find your true self within, intend to find self love, what are your intentions?
