About Maria
I pay attention to my client's individual needs. Not all yoga poses are for everyone, so I do my best to customize my yoga practice according to my client's situation.
I practice Hatha Yoga Vinyasa flow, flow poses are in rhythmic with one's breath. I use series of poses designed for all age level with one main purpose...to align and calm the mind, body, and spirit (breath). My yoga teaching emphasizes mindfulness and balance through stability and mobility. Stability helps us find the center of gravity, improve balance, and limit movement in one part of the body while we stretch another. Mobility explores subtle movements of muscles around joints and to become more efficient at getting into and out of poses while improving overall function and fluidity.
I believe yoga practice coupled with brief meditation helps heightened our senses and keeps us centered. So, every yoga practice I teach comes with 5-10 minutes of meditation. My meditation practice combines mindfulness, body scan, and breathing awareness.
I feel like I've served my purpose, when I see my fellow yogis relax, calm, and peaceful after each yoga practice. A healthy body starts with a healthy and peaceful mind. A peaceful mind keeps us centered. My hope is to help as many people, at every age level, as I can to stay mentally, physically, and spiritually centered through yoga and meditation practice.
When I lost my husband in early 2017, I didn't know how to cope with such tragic loss. I was in total lost! My mental health was deteriorating followed by my physical. I felt alone and lost control over everything in my life...I felt like my life came crushing down...until I started going to a group yoga class in my gym and met the most peaceful and calm people I have ever met in my life. I became curious and found my purpose...to help provide peace and calmness to people's lives, just like what my yoga friends gave me.
Certified on Flowing Yoga practice through SCW fitness. I have practiced meditation for more than two years now.

Find someone who practice what they teach, then the flow of energy will follow.
A friend of mine teaches karate to school-age kids. Every month, she invites me to teach her students yoga and meditation during the last 30 minutes of her karate class. Before I start my yoga session, these kids were high in energy and have a hard time sitting still. By the end of our yoga practice, they were glued to their mats, not wanting to get up, and staring at the ceiling.

The instructor Maria, she takes the time to explain everything in detail of the pose. Her gentle voice allows you to focus on your practice. The poses are a little changing but gentle on my joints. This was my second time taking Flowing Yoga and I love it.
I really enjoyed this yoga instructor. She did a wonderful job explaining how to safely get into each pose (great for beginners!) and it was an amazing workout. Will definitely be taking her class again!
I am totally new to yoga but Maria made it feel very relaxing & easy.
