About Kelly
My yoga classes are designed to increase flexibility and strength, while at the same time releasing stress and promoting deep relaxation.
My guided meditation sessions will start you on your way to a regular meditation practice. Meditation has been shown to improve physical and mental health.
Both meditation and yoga, when done regularly over time, can transform your life, allowing you to find more ease and greater meaning and purpose in your day-to-day existence.
I love seeing my students learn how to move and breathe easier, all the while getting stronger! I love students who are curious about meditation take a big step toward beginning a regular practice. They are so genuinely happy they took that step!
I began teaching yoga to groups and individuals in 2010 after I completed my teacher training.
I began teaching at The New York Times, where I was employed as an editor.
Eventually, I left my journalism job to teach yoga and return to school for a master's degree in yoga therapy.
I am a registered yoga teacher at the 500-hour experience level.
In addition, I am a certified yoga therapist with a master of science in clinical yoga therapy. This means I have specialized training to use mindful movement and meditation in therapeutic settings for people with specific mental and physical conditions.

I start by asking new students to tell me why they want to try yoga and/or meditation and what their goals are. This will help me design sessions that are tailored to their individual conditions and goals.
The beauty of private yoga/meditation lessons is the amount of individualized attention and instruction the student receives.
Group classes are great, but no two people in a class are exactly alike and students in group classes don't always get the attention they need to keep themselves safe and get the maximum benefit from their yoga or meditation practice.
I have taught yoga in workplace and gym settings and have worked with individuals in person and online via Zoom.
I teach meditation for corporations and on a one-on-one basis.
I also teach therapeutic yoga in a hospital setting. I work with people who are in rehab from substance use disorder.
