About Rita
I believe that my services stand out through the personal attention I give to everyone that I'm privledged to work with. I like to sit down with my client and address their immediate and long term goals, as well as any health issues. I have a vast array of different classes that are designed to meet the needs of my community. I enjoy having the chance to sit with someone looking to improve their lives through the practice of yoga and getting to be a part of their journey.
I enjoy everything about the work I do. Yoga means unity. Unity brings us together on a personal level, planting roots that spread through our community, which then spreads on to a global level. Yoga allows us to be the change that we want to see in the world. I'm blessed to be in a position to plant the seeds of change and give people the tools they needs to keep them watered and together we will make them grow.
I started teaching because I know the positive changes that I have experienced through yoga. I want others to exprience this too. Yoga is my passion, sharing it with others is my dharma.
I been practicing yoga for 11 years and have been certified with an RYS, through Sky Yoga School in Buffalo Grove Illinois. I have recieved continuing education certification through Yoga Intetnational, in Yoga Therapy, Yoga for PTSD, Yoga and Herbs for insomnia, Breath Work and Meditation, Yoga Nidra (IREST), The 8 Limbs of Ashtanga, and Yoga for the Psoas.

I like to start with a complementary 15 minute consultation to get a feel for what the student is looking for during our time together on the mat.
I work with children as young as 2 through Seniors into their 80's. I've worked with a vast amount of children and adults with special needs and significant mental illness as well as minor depression, focus problems and attention deficit. . I teach students who suffer from chronic migraine with great success in alliviating a significant amount of pain. I also teach students in a regular class setting who simply enjoy practicing yoga.
Be open to the possibilities
I was able to work with someone who was feeling lost and disconnected, I watched as they became aware of their mind/body connection. That was a joyful experience, it was a little victory for that student. We all need the little victories, that's how a personal practice starts the process of self transformation.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
It's important to ask about what types of yoga is offered at studio the students are interested in.
What style the teacher focuses on. Is it based on Western philosophies, Eastern philosophies, or a combination of the two.
What should the student expect, are mats and props provided?
What are the hours of operation?
Are there any deals, can I buy a class package and save a percentage?
Do you work on a sliding pay scale?

Details
I charge $30 per hour for private lessons and $20 for classes. The first class is half price, which does not include private lessons. If I have to travel for a private lesson the charge is $50 per hour. I also work on a sliding pay scale for those living on a fixed budget.
