About Christine
I am an experienced teacher with a gentle but focused approach to teaching.
I love working with people to improve their body awareness, self-confidence and peace of mind.
I have a 250 hour YTT certification through the Yoga Alliance. I also have a long history of studying and practicing various styles of yoga and other moving arts including dance and Pilates. I have been fortunate to practice with many inspiring teachers and try to honor them in my approach to teaching. I am a lifelong student of movement and I love to work with students who are curious about improving mobility and building strength in their own bodies and minds.

When working with a new student, I believe it is important to get moving safely and slowly once limitations and contraindications have been identified. Even with beginning students, conscious movement and getting to know one's own body through the postures is just as important as learning the terms and ideal ways to do different postures. As your teacher, I believe all postures can be broken down so that the benefits can be derived even from modified versions. Also as your teacher, I will do my best to demistify aspects of yoga that may make it seem inaccessible. In this way, I aspire to lay a foundation of curiousity and possibility for new students.
I have worked with students of various fitness and experience levels and am particularly interested in breaking down postures and pranayama practices so that they are accessible to students of all levels. I have significant experience working with adults 50+.
Find someone who you ENJOY working with and who also CHALLENGES you in an area you wish to grow in.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
They should ask themselves:
1) Do you have any injuries? Past or present.
2) Is there any posture/practice you know you don't want to do today for any reason?
3) Is there anything in particular you would like to do today?
4) The key question to ask yourself is, 'what do I hope to gain?' For example: relieving discomfort, increasing mobility, building strength, improving relaxation, improving breath awareness, improving focus, etc.?
Often many of these can be accomplished in a single session but it's good to be as clear as possible with goals so that they can be reached.
