About Barry

I am a full time qualified teacher with a wealth of experience in delivering the full range of modules from Key Stage 3 (11+) to A-Level Further Mathematics in Pure, Statistics and Mechanics. I have several years of exceptional results from students who are now thriving at some of the best academic institutions in the world. In the last two years alone over 50% of the year 13 students I have taught were invited to interview for mathematically focused degree courses at Oxbridge.

I have a degree in Physics from the University of Glasgow after which I trained as a Secondary Mathematics teacher. As well as experience in the U.K. I have taught the best students in some of the top international schools in Asia.

I aim to make the best use of our time by explaining concepts while solving exam style questions together.

Perfect! Highly recommended
Barry is a great maths tutor. My 17 year old boy had a few lessons with him because he was getting frustrated with some of the concepts in his A level maths. Barry was knowledgeable and explained the difficult concepts very well.
Barry is friendly and easy to talk to which is immensely important for an intimidating subject like maths.

Subject : Maths
Outcome : Restored my child's confidence in Maths A level

Barry is a member of my team at the ABC International School and is a highly talented teacher. He has taught all levels of secondary Maths from Year 7 to Year 13 and has has excellent results.
Over the past four years, Barry has undertaken to teach the highest level of Maths available (AS and A Level Further Maths) where his students have produced outstanding results. In other courses, he challenges his students to produce their best work and enhance their outcomes.
I have no hesitation in recommending Barry as a tutor of mathematics as he has demonstrated the required knowledge and skills and I have seen his students show excellent progress.

Barry has a wealth of experience working with students from Year 7 to Year 13 and is very well respected by both students and staff. He is dedicated to achieving the best outcomes for every student he works with. I worked with him for 4 years and can honestly say he is one of the most dedicated teachers I have worked with. He is also experienced with private tutoring and will be an excellent online tutor. He has vast experience with both the English and Scottish mathematics curriculum.
