About Nathan
Hello! My name is Nathan. As a current MEng Aerospace Engineering student at the University of Sheffield, I am uniquely positioned to help students navigate their academic journeys. Because I am preparing to step into the professional working world myself, I deeply understand how mastering academia today directly unlocks the career and future you want tomorrow.
Having successfully navigated GCSEs, A-Levels, and the university transition not too long ago, I offer my students much more than standard curriculum tutoring. I provide relatable mentorship, a clear perspective on what lies ahead, and practical advice on how to get a foot in the door of competitive industries and university life.
Why Choose to Learn with Me?
- Academic Legitimacy: I am predicted a First-Class Honours degree and am currently maintaining this average in one of the UK's most mathematically rigorous engineering disciplines.
- Proven Mentorship Experience: Beyond private tutoring, I am an official University Student Ambassador. I have directly mentored cohorts of over 80 young students, facilitating academic workshops and breaking down complex STEM concepts into welcoming, accessible insights.
- Professionalism & Trust: I maintain a clean, current Enhanced DBS check and First Aid certification, giving parents and students complete peace of mind regarding my professionalism and safety.
- Beyond the Textbook: As a former high-ranking cadet instructor and university society captain, I bring exceptional communication, discipline, and motivational leadership to my sessions, helping students build genuine long-term confidence.
I know exactly what it takes to face challenging exams and come out on top. My goal is to simplify mathematics, reduce academic anxiety, and help you map out a clear path to your own future success.

My approach to tutoring centres on breaking down complex mathematical concepts into manageable, intuitive steps. As a first-class Aerospace Engineering student at the University of Sheffield, I use mathematics daily, allowing me to bring practical, real-world context to the curriculum.
Teaching Methodology & Techniques:
I tailor every lesson dynamically to align with each individual's unique learning style and specific exam board requirements. Rather than relying on rote memorisation, my methodology focuses on true conceptual understanding.
A typical session uses the following structure:
- Interactive Breakdown: We dissect tricky topics using digital tools and structured, personalised examples.
- Guided Practice: We tackle targeted problems together, gradually shifting the responsibility to the student to build independent problem-solving skills.
- Exam Strategy: We review active recall methods and real past paper questions to maximise exam confidence and technique.
Lesson Structure:
Lessons are typically 60 minutes long, which is the perfect length to maintain high engagement while thoroughly covering a topic. However, session lengths can be adjusted based on individual student needs.
Who the Lessons Are For:
My lessons are specifically designed for students looking to master:
- Arithmetic & Algebra
- Trigonometry & Statistics
- GCSE & A-Level Preparation
Whether a student is struggling with the core foundations of arithmetic or aiming for top marks in A-Level calculus and statistics, I foster an encouraging environment that accelerates both academic confidence and exam performance.
My Experience:
I have formal experience developing personalised lesson plans as a remote private tutor, helping GCSE students secure strong passes in STEM subjects. Additionally, as a university Student Ambassador, I have mentored dozens of pupils and led interactive academic workshops. I also hold a current, clean Enhanced DBS check, giving parents absolute peace of mind.
