About Emily
As a PhD (Applied Mental Health) and a Master's degree (Psychological Science) holder, I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to my tutoring sessions. With 2 years of teaching experience at the high school level and 5 years at the degree level, I have honed my skills in delivering engaging lectures, marking, and moderating coursework, exams, and dissertations. My experience on the admissions team for the MSc Clinical and Health Psychology course has also given me insight into what makes a strong research proposal. As an internationally published researcher, I stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the field, ensuring my students receive the most current and relevant information.

My tutoring sessions are built on a person-centred approach, tailored to each student's unique learning style, needs, and goals. I adapt content, delivery, and resources to overcome any learning barriers and ensure a supportive and inclusive learning environment. Whether you're struggling with a specific concept or looking to improve your overall understanding of psychology, I'll work with you to develop a customised plan that suits your needs. My PhD thesis looked at the structure of support networks and their impact on young people's mental health. This informs my teaching, allowing me to provide expert guidance on topics such as social support, mental health, and research methods. Together, we'll work towards achieving your academic goals and fostering a deeper understanding of psychology.
