About Finn

I am a Spanish tutor with over 12 years of teaching experience, specializing in working with college students. I am passionate about helping learners understand Spanish clearly and use it confidently. My approach combines structured learning with creative activities so that students can develop both academic knowledge and practical communication skills.

I believe every student learns differently. For this reason, I do not depend on one fixed teaching method. I first identify the student's current level, goals, strengths, and difficulties. Then I adjust my teaching style, lesson speed, examples, and practice activities to make learning more effective.

One of my main methods is learning through real-life communication. I create simple situations that students may experience in everyday life, college, travel, or work. Through role-plays and guided conversations, students practice asking questions, giving answers, sharing opinions, and expressing ideas in Spanish.

I also use storytelling as a learning tool. Short stories help students improve vocabulary, sentence structure, reading, listening, and comprehension at the same time. I ask questions about the story and encourage students to retell parts of it using their own words.

For grammar, I focus on understanding rather than memorization. I explain difficult concepts using simple examples and then provide short exercises that allow students to apply what they have learned. I also teach vocabulary in context so learners understand how words are used naturally.

I encourage students to speak regularly and treat mistakes as part of the learning process. My feedback is clear and supportive, helping students understand what they did well and what they can improve.

Along with general Spanish, I can support college students with academic assignments, presentations, reading, writing, grammar, pronunciation, and conversation practice. I can also adapt lessons for students preparing to use Spanish in professional or travel situations.

My goal is to make every class active, positive, and useful. I want students to develop the confidence to communicate in Spanish independently and continue improving even outside our lessons.

I use a practical and encouraging methodology for teaching Spanish. My teaching style combines real-life examples and case studies, motivation, problem-solving, integrity, and flexibility to make the learning process useful and comfortable.

I connect Spanish lessons with situations students can understand and relate to. We can practice conversations about travelling, ordering food, shopping, college, workplace communication, family, hobbies, and social activities. This gives students opportunities to use new language in realistic situations.

I motivate students by creating a supportive environment. I encourage them to participate, practice regularly, and communicate in Spanish. I help them set realistic goals and focus on gradual improvement rather than expecting immediate perfection.

Problem-solving activities help students apply their language skills. They may need to respond to a situation, complete a conversation, ask questions, explain an issue, or choose a suitable expression. These activities develop independent thinking and practical communication.

Integrity is an important part of my teaching relationship. I provide honest and respectful feedback and explain mistakes patiently. I make sure students understand both their strengths and the areas where they need more practice.

Flexibility allows me to adjust the learning experience according to each student. I consider their level, goals, interests, pace, and learning style. I can provide support in speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and conversation.

Besides Spanish, I can also teach relevant language and communication subjects. My goal is to make Spanish learning enjoyable while helping students develop confidence and communicate effectively.
