• Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

  I teach all the subjects related to Fashion Design and Arts, a field that has fascinated me since I was young. My interest began when I was in school and was at the top in creative subjects which made me realise that I can do wonders in this field. Over the years, my curiosity and passion only grew, leading me to pursue advanced studies and eventually, teaching.

• What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

  My primary motivation to teach comes from my own experiences with inspiring educators. My college professor Mrs. Bijal Dedhia had a significant impact on my academic journey, and I aspire to be that catalyst for others. Teaching allows me to share my love for Fashion Design and help students discover their potential.

• How does your work help society?

  Teaching Fashion Design contributes to society by helping students understand sustainable fashion and how to make stylish looks with minimalism. By educating the next generation, I hope to inspire critical thinking, creativity, and a deeper understanding of the world around us.

• If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

  One of my role models is Mr Krishnendu Datta, who has made significant contributions to Fashion Education. His dedication, innovation, and commitment to education have set a high standard that I strive to follow. He has always inspired me to expand my knowledge and give out the best I can.

• Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

  Outside of teaching, I enjoy painting, listening to music and exploring different places. These activities help me unwind and often provide new perspectives that I bring back to my teaching.

• Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

  One memorable moment was when I taught Graphics to one of my student Ajitha, she was so happy and overwhelmed with her understanding the subject with logic that she cleared an interview at a renowned Design Label. This experience reinforced my belief in the power of education and the difference a dedicated teacher can make.
