About Michael
I have been successful in exams myself, and know how to write a clear and effective essay. Additionally, I have experience tutoring, having tutored several students who achieved A*s in GCSE maths, and advised several Oxbridge applicants who went on to gain offers.

Personalisation of tuition is key to my approach. I first spend some time getting to know each student, identifying areas of weakness to prop up, and areas of strength to expand upon and challenge. From here we can proceed to to preparation for specific goals, whether these be exams or university entrance. This takes the form of work tailored to the exam and exam board you are doing. I have succeeded in these exams, and can help you to do so too.
A typical tutorial can take the form of discussion of issues, in the manner of an Oxford tutorial; or can be focused on feedback on a specific essay you have done. I place a particular emphasis on essay technique, as it is often this which prevents otherwise bright students from accessing the top marks.

I took lessons with Michael for Oxford Entrance. He was extremely helpful, and helped me go from getting around 65 in the TSA to over 75, which eventually led to an offer. He was always responsive to any questions I had
I would like to recommend Michael as tutor. In my experience teaching and subsequently knowing Michael I have found him a hardworking and brilliant student, and unfailingly helpful and generous to those in the class who had more difficulty with the material. I am sure he would make an excellent tutor.
